|   |   | Overview The SM-196 System Monitor is an EPROM-based debugger for the MP-196 single board computer. It allows the user to download application object code into RAM on the board. Downloaded code is then tested using SM-196 commands. In the typical development setup, a host computer (PC or compatible) is serially linked to the MP-196. The serial connection runs from a COM port on the PC to Serial Port A of the board's DUART. This preserves the 80C196 serial port for user application. The SM-196 consumes under 6K bytes and is supplied on two 27C256 EPROMs. It comes with a User's Manual which contains a complete listing of the monitor source. |
